Garlic Ghee Hawaiian Shrimp

Garlic Ghee butter works best with this recipe.


  • 1 Pound deveined Shrimp
  • 1 cup of Coconut or All purpose Four
  • Oil for Frying
  • Fresh or canned crushed pineapple
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Sweet onion
  • 1 tablespoon of chili flakes
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • Garlic Ghee butter


1 pound of deveined shrimp washed & put aside

Set a sauce pan on low flame:

  1. Add 2 tablespoons of Garlic Ghee butter and let melt on pan (do not let ghee butter overheat)
  2. Add 1/2 chopped sweet onion and let caramelize

Back to the shrimp:

  1. Add egg to raw shrimp, and a handful of all purpose flour, coconut flour
  2. Take shrimp and fry on separate pan, put shrimp on plate with napkin to soak up excess oil.

Go back to Garlic Ghee pan:

  1. Add 1/2 cup of crushed pineapple
  2. 1 tea spoon of chili flakes
  3. Salt and pepper to taste
  4. Add the fried shrimp
  5. (Optional) Add 1/4 cup of heavy cream for a creamier texture
  6. Cover for 2-3 minutes low flame and serve!
